The HFS Original is back! After we released the HFS II (the Original’s successor), we did a survey to find out which version people who owned both liked best. The results were a 50/50 split. Which could mean just one thing… We needed to bring back the HFS Original.

Enjoy a low-to-the-ground feel for excellent ground feedback and a true-to-barefoot running experience when you wear the HFS Original.

Why "HFS?"

Well, it could be for the “Highly Flexible Sole” that lets your foot move naturally, or the face you’ll make when you put it on — “Happy Face Shoe” — or the way you run in it with a “High Frequency Stride”, or what you exclaim when you put it on and feel the comfort and light weight: “Holy ___ ___!”

There are as many possible answers as there are things you’ll do in the HFS.

Compared to the HFS II, the HFS Original has a lower stack height (7.5mm vs 9mm) and a tire-inspired tread, putting less between you and the ground for a truer barefoot feel.

Caring for your HFS

To clean your HFS, hand wash with warm water, mild soap and allow them to air dry. We do not recommend putting the HFS in the washing machine or dryer.

What's different between the Prio, HFS, and Speed Force?

The Prio is our best-selling "do almost anything" shoe -- running, hiking, working out, you name it. With a durable upper, it provides a bit more protection.

The Speed Force is our lightest, "most barefoot" shoe. More feedback as you step and a mesh upper that holds like a glove, you get a "barely there" experience.

The HFS is lighter than the Prio, more rugged than the Speed Force. The HFS's sole has a tire tread-inspired sole that's made to handle roads and have extra traction. The huarache-inspired midfoot and instep straps are "hiding" behind a protective welded material. And the moisture wicking lining for extra comfort and breathability.

Do you ship internationally?

We ship internationally using services shown at checkout; costs and options vary by destination and weight. All shipments include a tracking number (tracking visibility may vary by service and destination). Typical delivery is ~1–3 weeks, and customs processing can extend timelines. After you purchase a gift certificate, you'll be able to enter an email address for the recipient.
